Objectives: At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Apply a structured initial assessment and management approach to epistaxis and oropharyngeal bleeding, including identification of
life-threatening hemorrhage, appropriate first-line interventions, and criteria for urgent Otolaryngology referral. - Recognize and differentiate sudden sensorineural hearing loss from conductive hearing loss, and formulate an appropriate initial
investigation and management plan, including indications for urgent specialist assessment - Interpret the clinical findings associated with temporal bone fractures, identify potential complications, and prioritize appropriate
investigations, acute management, and indications for Otolaryngology/neurosurgical consultation - Recognize, assess, and initiate management of potentially life-threatening upper airway obstruction and neck masses, using a
systematic approach to airway stabilization, identification of red-flag features, and timely escalation to emergency and
Otolaryngology services
