At the conclusion of these Grand Rounds, participants will be able to
- Explain the legal and functional framework of occupational health.
- Explain the financial structure of the WSIB and how it pertains to how workers are reimbursed and claim health benefits.
- Identify red flags in an occupational history that may prolong an injury.
- Develop an approach to providing a safe return to work plan that is best for the worker.
- State the benefits of early return to work for injured workers.
- Recall the resources to be used by family physicians when encountering occupational medicine issues.
