West Region Virtual Palliative Care Education Day

April 16th 8:30am-1pm

General admission $50, Students $25

This year, the education day will equip health professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills to assess and manage complex pain and distress in patients living with serious illness.

Participants will gain an understanding of nociplastic pain, including its underlying mechanisms and distinguishing clinical features, to support management. The session will also provide evidence-informed guidance on the safe and effective use of methadone, including patient selection, initiation, monitoring, and risk mitigation strategies. In addition, learners will strengthen their ability to recognize delirium and other contributors to distress that may be misinterpreted as pain, and integrate appropriate management approaches.

The target audience is physicians and NPs in primary care, however we welcome all interested HCPs to attend.
