“Do you have patients with trauma histories who suffer from depression, PTSD, and somatic symptoms who seem to come to your office over and over again without any improvement in functionality?

This is a common patient presentation for those of us working at London InterCommunity Health and we wanted to share an evidence based modality that can be delivered in primary care that has improved our ability to care for these complex patients and improves their function levels while reducing symptom burden.

Dr. Allison Henderson and Dr. Shiva Ahanchian are thankful to be hosting a Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) in Primary Care training with Stephanie Rabenstein MSC RMFT at London InterCommunity Health on March 28th.

Those of us using it at LIHC have found it to be a great addition to our tool kit especially when psychiatry resources are at a premium or our patients won’t attend specialist appointments and we see so much physical symptomatology that has its roots in trauma and mental health.  We’ve been lucky to have been trained directly through the NET Institute from the founders in Germany, both in the original NET and also primary care NET (condensed version for family medicine).
